Message from Mayor Rod Ward

It has been a privilege serving on Armour Township Council since 2018 and I look forward to helping guide us toward our vision for the area as the Mayor starting in 2022. Working with community partners and surrounding municipalities, with fellow Council members, with municipal staff, and with our citizens, our goal is to create a positive, forward-thinking environment where people love to live, work and relax. This means building on the positive work that previous Councils have done, and building on the work that our committed staff do every day. It also means establishing a vision for the future and measuring ourselves against progress toward that vision. In the spirit of on-going and continual improvement, we will build on our momentum and continue to make Armour Township a small but highly respected leader in the Almaguin Highlands.



Your municipal government sets the tone and sets the course for our daily lives. More than any other government body, it is your municipality that is focused not only on day-to-day services, but in planning the future direction, planning for growth, and anticipating the local needs. A focus on the needs of our community, through cooperation at all levels and on-going communication with all of our stakeholders, will help pave the way for our future.  And the future is bright!
