Open House & Wildfire Community Preparedness Event

As the earth’s climate changes, wildfires are becoming a growing concern throughout the country. Burk's Falls and District Fire Department knows that being prepared is more crucial than ever.


April 12, 2025 is our Wildfire Community Preparedness Event. This important day is dedicated to increasing awareness and understanding of wildfire protection, helping you learn effective ways to safeguard your property and community.


Join us for a FREE community open house at the Burk's Falls Fire Station (168 Ontario Street) on Saturday, April 12 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Learn about wildfire protection and how to protect your property and community.


This day will include:

  • Fire Safety Information – Learn essential safety tips
  • Meet the Firefighters – Get to know your local heroes
  • Fire Truck Tours – Explore the trucks and equipment
  • MNRF FireSmart Presentation – Learn how to reduce wildfire risks
  • Free Refreshments & BBQ – Enjoy food and drinks while you learn
  • Community Emergency Management- Learn the role and why it’s essential
